I did it manually. I do quite a bit of IT work for my department so it's almost old hat for me. The manual install really wasn't difficult. I just backed up all my files and tables then went ahead and copied the 2.3 files into the hosting directory. They give you pretty good instructions on what to do. I've heard good things about the plugins though.

Thanks for reminding me to upgrade, still haven't gotten around to it.

Do you have the plugin that automatically updates your Wordpress installation? Or did you just post that yourself? I forgot what the plugin was that did that.

The only plugin I had issues with was the Google Sitemap plugin. Once I updated that plugin, things went smoothly. I haven't noticed a big difference between 2.2 and 2.3 but I'm not a power blogger like John Chow and the like. So far so good though!

I've yet to install 2.3 on my site. I like to wait a while until the bug reports come in and the dust settles. I have enough problems with my plugins without adding more with a new install on top of it all.
